Welcome! I’m really glad you’re here.
You deserve a space where you can slow down, feel seen, and begin making sense of what you’ve been carrying.
Hi, I’m Mariah Tendam (she/her).
I’m a Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor who works with adults and young adults (18+) navigating developmental and relational trauma, grief, anxiety, depression, and the many life changes that can shake our sense of who we are — things like breakups, college transitions, career shifts, or other moments when life suddenly feels less steady.
In therapy, I focus on creating a space that feels warm, collaborative, and emotionally safe — where you can slow down, talk openly, and explore your experiences without pressure or judgment.
A meaningful part of my work includes supporting people through the deep bond we share with animals and the grief that can follow when that relationship changes or ends. Our animals often become part of our sense of home, comfort, and attachment. When they’re gone, the loss can feel disorienting and hard to explain to others.
This work is especially personal to me because of my own experience loving and losing my dog, DJ. That loss shaped how I understand attachment, grief, and the quiet but powerful role animals can have in our lives.
I’m drawn to this work because I’ve seen how much it can matter to be met with care, consistency, and understanding. It’s an honor to sit with people as they begin to make sense of their experiences and reconnect with their own sense of steadiness and self-trust.
Outside of therapy, I spend a lot of time in creative spaces — rug making, embroidery, and sewing. I also love quiet time with my pets and the people closest to me, relaxing in my hammock, or unwinding with an anime series or a little reality TV. Those slower moments help keep me grounded and remind me how important creativity, connection, and rest are in everyday life.
If you’re considering therapy and wondering if this might be a good fit, you’re welcome to reach out.
