Trauma-informed therapy for adults in Ohio.

Compassionate support for developmental and relational trauma, grief, life transitions, pet loss, and the human-animal bond.

A supportive space to begin.

You deserve a space where your story is met with compassion, curiosity, and steadiness. Our stories have roots—shaped by childhood, relationships, loss, and the experiences that taught us how to cope and connect.

At Rooted Bonds Counseling, therapy isn’t about having everything figured out or feeling “ready.” It’s about creating enough safety to explore what hurts, what feels stuck, and what you’re longing for, while making sense of where you’ve been and gently considering what comes next.

This space is for whoever needs it. It’s for those who feel lost, those who are grieving a person or a beloved pet, those working through trauma, or those who feel a gap in the care they’re looking for. If some of these statements sound familiar, know that you’re not alone:

  • You find yourself reacting to things in relationships in ways that confuse or frustrate you, and you suspect some of it may connect back to earlier experiences or family dynamics.

  • You’re carrying grief — whether from the loss of a person or the loss of a beloved pet — and the depth of that loss feels hard for others to understand. This includes the unique grief that can come with pet loss and the deep bonds we form with the animals who share our lives.

  • You’re moving through a life transition (college, early adulthood, a breakup, or a shift in identity) and things feel more uncertain or overwhelming than you expected.

  • You struggle with anxiety, depression, or the quiet pressure of feeling like you should be handling life better than you are.

  • You’re someone who feels things deeply. You’re sensitive, intuitive, and emotionally aware, but sometimes that depth of feeling can be exhausting or isolating.

  • You’re trying to learn how to trust yourself more, set healthier boundaries, and reconnect with who you are becoming.

You don’t have to resonate with every point for this space to feel supportive.
